90 kms South of Shillong in Meghalaya - North East of India is an over a 100 year old fully sustainable magical village called Mawlynnong . It has been declared as the cleanest village in Asia by the Discovery Channel.

Jatinga-Halflong Assam Tourism North East India

Jatinga is a small village, located in the picturesque Dima Hasao district of Assam, some 330 kms away from Guwahati .Only 9 kms away from Haflong ,it is the only hill station in the state of Assam and the headquarters of the Dima Hasao district. jatinga,is famous for a rare and mysterious bird phenomenon of 'bird suicide'. From September to November, thousands of birds meet their death by making a sudden dash to the ground.

On the north of North Guwahati there is a hill named Natuancha. Here Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvoti and other gods resided. This was alternative of Kailash dham , the abode of the Lord Shiva.

One of the most beautiful temples built in the Brahmaputra valley, Madan -Kamdev ,dedicated to lord Shiva , lies 40kms north of guwahati in Kamrup district.National Highway 52 leads to the northern bank of the Brahmaputra across the Saraighat Bridge on to the acrossing of Baihata Chariali .From here a 3km drive takes one to the base of the Dewangiri Hill.on top of this hill, surrounded by lush green foliage is a complex of over 20 temples, the largest of which is Madan -Kamdev.
